Wireless networks allow your employees to access shared company resources without the constraint of being restricted to a fixed location. Benefits of wireless solutions include:
- allowing shared work spaces and hot-desking for staff
- providing convenient, secure access to guests, partners and customers on a single infrastructure
- using location services to track mobile assets in warehouse and retail environments
Components of a wireless LAN solution can include some or all of the following devices:
- Wireless access points – access points (APs) establish the connectivity between the wireless client and the wired network. Wireless APs are available in lightweight and autonomous varieties. Lightweight APs require a Wireless LAN Controller to function.
- Wireless LAN Controllers – Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs) provide the intelligence for lightweight access points and simplify the deployment and administration of a wireless network solution. WLCs allow administrators to securely manage WLANs and mobility services including security, guest access, and location services.
- Wireless Routers – For small, medium sized businesses (SMBs) and branch offices, wireless routers can provide a complete, secure wireless infrastructure solution.
- Outdoor Access Points and Bridges – Outdoor APs extend the reach of the network beyond the physical boundaries of a building. Bridges can be used to rapidly and cost-effectively connect multiple buildings within a campus environment.
We offer a wireless site survey, network planning and design service to ensure the correct quantity and placement of APs whilst mitigating interference, dropouts, poor throughput and connection issues.
